Fart.

Things have been hectic here. Not many updates, not much to talk about that hasn’t been talked about on Facebook or Twitter or some other place other than here, the thing I pay a lot of money to keep around so I can talk about myself and then don’t. Yay.

• I’ve had a horrible time of managing my time between the slobjob (wholesale catering dayjob) and doing art, as I am so damned tired by the end of the sometimes 7 hour (and other times 11) shifts making foods, that I can barely do anything once home but relax and minor chores. That is something I have been working towards fixing, and definitely needed to get back on schedule here about. If nothing else, this is my daily check-in to focus on what I’ve done, and what I still need to do. 8 unique visitors be damned!

That said, spent the 12th and 13th both doing art after slobjobbing all day, and managed to sneak in about 5+ hours worth of pencilling on a bumper page too. Been slacking on art in general, so it’s been a little slow on the return, feeling rusty and all, but 5 hours is better than none.

The 8 or so pages I have left to do are all splash pages, or bumpers as I am calling them for this book. Real bookstores like your soon to be extinct Barnes & Nobles, Borders etc, like to stock graphic novels of a certain length, something this book doesn’t quite meet with the actual written pages. So what I am doing is padding it out a little with some neat filler, that hopefully won’t feel like filler, but will also help us reach that magical number of pages to actually keep this thing out of the ghetto of direct comic shops in the country.

HOPE!

And that’s the only real update for the last day or two. Only problem with this new schedule is, it will keep me exhausted almost thoroughly, so don’t plan on getting any beers with me any time soon. Being that exhausted also leaves little room for all the Maya/Mudbox reading/tutorials I have been doing, so I can actually one day get a steady job doing something with my art. Saddest fucking thing in the whole wide world is talking to someone who draws comics for a living in their 50’s. JEEPERS.
