Long time no update, huh? Well time to get back to it then!
• Descent is nearing full completion. The first 25 pages are off to the letterer as I speak, and I’ll be spending the next few days getting pages 26-50 to him as well. This entails changing file sizes, doing some clean-up on art, and scaling the images down to print size. All of which means lots of waiting while photoshop does its thing. Sometimes it gets locked up too, so I’ll leave for a few minutes thinking things will be done when I get back, ONLY TO FIND THEY ARE NOT! That makes me so mad, sooo so mad. Anyways, that will keep me busy as heck the next few days, and then from there we’ll see who wants to give us money for it now, all these years since the project started. Hopefully the first 50 pages will be enough to spark interest, because as things are now I really won’t have time to work on this on spec for the immediate future - but more on that at the end of the post…
• Inked and colored this up while listening to last weeks Best Show. I’d draw a Tom Scharpling penned comic in a heartbeat, oh would I!
• I have a new toy painted toy to put on ebay, only I’m a little worried it might get pulled. Seems Mattel has been cracking down on people doing customs of their figures, so we shall see if it stays up long after I put it up tomorrow. You can go see it in the toy section here though, it’s the Movie Master Joker - ooh!
• Speaking of custom toys, that WIP post kinda got sidetracked, didn’t it? I had it close-ish to being done, when I ran up against a pretty major flub, which made me say screw it, through the guy in an alcohol bath and will just start over again soon. He was soooo close though, sooo!
And that’s about it.
As for why I won’t have much artwork time anymore, I might be moving cross-country very soon. Like VERY VERY SOON, if things go as we hope. Dr. Jenny wrapped up the last of her school stuff last week, and is now officially Master Jenny (no Dr. anymore). She’s applied for some jobs on the west coast, a few of which have starting deadlines which would mean we might have to relocate with the quickness. YIKES.
Of course, the other option is that we stay here in Pittsburgh, finish out our lease until next May, we both get crappy hourly jobs and save up and move back that way in the spring anyways. So unless I start getting paid on a full-time basis very soon for art, it’s all going to be very spotty very soon.
SO if you need an artist, or know anyone that does - my schedule just got VERY open.
Very.
