Busy week, lots done, and even busier times ahead. Yay.

• So I sent Dabb off most of the art earlier this week, and then spent the rest of it working on the pages that still need to be done. I have 1 page left that needs to be pencilled, and for some reason I keep avoiding it. I literally sat and stared at the blank page for an hour the other day, couldn’t stay started on it. It’s a really easy page too, 3 panels, 2 of which are exterior/setting shots, I should be able to whip that out in a few hours, and ink it in a few more. For some damn reason though I can’t do it. Gah. However, it’s not all bad news, as I did manage to knock out 3 more pages this week, and a good start on a 4th. All 4 of them basically done, but awaiting a bit of SFX work I’ll do later once I have the entire sequence of pages done, so i can keep the visual effect I need for parts of it consistent. I have no idea where that leaves me as far as needing to be done, because my desk is a mess and I can’t my checklist, but I know that 4 pages down is always a good thing. Always.

Next week: 5 more pages done, bet.

In other news, Dabb and I have a running bet now of how many times he can say “spoon” in casual conversations around his new co-worker (and Showrunner!) over at the Supernatural offices, one Mr. Ben Edlund, without Ben noticing. So far Dabb’s been unsuccessful and cowardly in his attempts, but I wrote this little mini-play up to motivate and inspire him to try (and let’s hope he does):

DAY 26: BUMPED INTO BEN IN THE HALLWAY AROUND 3:30, HE SAID HE WAS TAKING OFF EARLY FOR THE DAY TO GO SEE THE NEW HELLBOY FLICK. I CASUALLY LOOKED DOWN AT MY WATCH AND SAID “AH, LEAVING SO SPOON?”. IN YOUR FACE, EDLUND, IN YOUR FACE.

Also double points for any Dinosaur Neil references, obviously.

The weekend has lots to do, and probably little relaxing. I need to head to the post office tomorrow, want to finish off this page tomorrow as well, have some final bits to do for some interviews I’ve got going up on Murdershow next week, we have a few items needing returns/exchanges to some stores this weekend, and I’d like to sneak in a run maybe too. Because the city decided to repave all the streets around our neighborhood, and on our block, for the last 2 weeks (and because I run at night and don’t want to fall into a ditch and die!) I’ve avoided running - but now it’s just getting ridiculous. FAT BE GONE.

All that AND Dr. Jenny’s b-day is coming up soon, like real soon.
